IF NOT CATERED:
___Find helpers for self-catering – Better to overstaff than understaff
___Determine Menu - Appetizers, Salads, Main Course, Dessert, etc.
___Determine Drinks – for dinner (non-cocktails- i.e. hot cider, peach tea, coffee etc.)
___Decide on using plastic ware including utensils, make list of what is needed, and if porcelain, use your own over renting
___List needed items like utensils, mixer, crock pot, pitchers, punch bowl, platters, plates, glasses, etc. and number needed
___Make Calendar of “To-Do” items and when to order, pickup and prepare in advance foods you are wanting
___Give yourself plenty of time plan and prepare so you won’t be rushed! Rushing brings forgetfulness and mistakes.
___Make List of Grocery Items or Food to buy. Prepare at least two weeks in advance and purchase your foods ahead of time.
___Call any stores Re: prepared, bakery or deli foods- when to order, when to pick up
___Prepare a “Hour by Hour Timeline” for the last few days prior to event for preparing food, picking up prepared food
___Assign tasks to helpers – on site or off site – give a strict timeline for helpers work
LAST BUT NOT LEAST . . . . .
___Be sure and plan for a few hours of relaxation prior to event
___Get a light chair massage the day of the event
